Since joining TKE back in 2006, I realized that having unique people from different backgrounds made me realize that this organization even though not perfect, does help bring people together into a strong brotherhood that definitely transcends common friendship. Especially in special click society such as America, you have a connection with good people and accept that good points and their faults. I am happy that I am finally making my walk into the real world and this is good that I finally realize that being TKE is not just being with people within the bond but also realizing that you are a part of something which people outside will never understand.
Well, I guess the place has been decided for Hidden Valley Resort in Pennsylvania. Although three hours is a long commute for me to do. I see that for some of the graduating seniors that I care about other things than this but I still like going to formals which I have been to have genuine entertainment with brothers and their guests.
Upsilon Theta Chapter is doing a relay for life again (last year spring 07) at John Hopkins University. This year it might fun as you might various people who are trying to do a good cause for people who need the donations. As always we don’t always get portrayed as a good fraternity but we do many things to help the fraternity. I think that most people don’t realize that our charity is something that really helps disadvantaged individuals. I hope brothers and people a like can join to help in this worthwhile cause.
I am not really sure if there is going to be a formal this year (well for Spring 08 anyway). I don’t know about if people realize that because our “wonderful” American economy that we have over $100 a barrel of oil so prices are expensive on driving. There is also a huge price in buy goods and various services such as renting a hotel. I honestly can’t worry about the our formal this year as during the last few weeks of school, I have to finalize my decisions or at least have a general idea about what I want to do with my life. The job market is bad and it is more fierce to get an entry level position for a local regional company. I think about why some factors why I am not employed is probably because or discrimination, lack of experience in a field, companies are cutting back in positions, and a person might be slightly more qualified than you although you are also qualified for the position. Most interviews were about me not being qualified and the fact that I guess being nervous is not a good trait when dealing with interviewers. As said in my last post, that you have to keep trying and get your foot in the door and possibly you can move on to a better job as other Gen Y people are doing.
I realize that this is the final semester for some brothers. I have to say that the job prospects for many though are not that great with the exception of jobs relating to IT. I guess being in your last semester makes you realize how you will see that this is something that will last forever in your mind, even when you are gone from the university. Although to some one step of your life is finished an another one is just beginning.

Some of the brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon are helping the community by giving a helping hand by sorting clothes for the unfortunate people in which we help organize donations by churches and people to give the best clothes possible to people who don’t have a place to live. We encourage everyone to give to the less fortunate so we can see why the United States is the wealthiest country on Earth and everyone can give something to benefit the cause.
